Overview

GeoLens ("we", "our", "the platform") is a land risk intelligence service operated by Thoiba Trader. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use our service at geo.thoibatrader.com, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.

GeoLens is a privacy-focused analysis tool. All satellite data is fetched from third-party public APIs (NASA, USGS, Open-Meteo, OpenStreetMap) via our secure Cloudflare Worker server-side, and results are processed to generate your report directly in the browser. We follow a zero-knowledge architecture: we do not store your coordinates, location searches, or report content on our servers.

Information We Collect

When you use GeoLens, the following types of information may be processed:

Location Coordinates: The latitude and longitude you enter or select on the map. These are sent directly from your browser to third-party APIs (Open-Meteo, USGS, OpenStreetMap) to fetch data. We do not log or store these coordinates on our servers.
Address Search Input: Text you type into the address search box is sent to the Nominatim/OpenStreetMap geocoding service for coordinate resolution. We do not retain this text.
Project Type & Plan Selection: Stored locally in your browser session (JavaScript memory) only. Not sent to or stored by us.
Generated PDF Reports: Reports are generated entirely in your browser using jsPDF. They are never uploaded to or stored on our servers.
Standard Web Logs: Like all websites, our hosting provider may collect standard server logs including IP address, browser type, page visited, and timestamp. These are used solely for security monitoring and are not linked to your location searches.

Third-Party Data Services

GeoLens fetches data from the following public APIs when you perform an analysis. Your browser contacts these services directly:

Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com): Climate and weather archive data. See their privacy policy at open-meteo.com/en/terms.
USGS FDSNWS (earthquake.usgs.gov): Earthquake catalog data. US Government public data service.
Open-Elevation / NASA SRTM: Elevation data derived from NASA's Shuttle Radar Topography Mission. Public domain.
OpenStreetMap Nominatim (nominatim.openstreetmap.org): Address geocoding. Subject to OpenStreetMap Foundation usage policy.
OpenStreetMap Overpass API (overpass-api.de): Road and infrastructure data. CC-BY-SA licensed.
Stadia Maps (tiles.stadiamaps.com): Map tile imagery. Subject to Stadia Maps terms of service.

We do not control the data practices of these third-party providers. We recommend reviewing their respective privacy policies if you have concerns.

Cookies & Local Storage

GeoLens does not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes. We do not run any advertising network or analytics cookies. The website may use browser localStorage to remember your theme preference (dark/light mode). No personal data is stored in localStorage.

How We Use Information

To provide the land risk analysis service you requested
To generate your PDF report in-browser
To maintain service security and monitor for abuse via standard server logs
We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties for commercial purposes
We do not build user profiles or use your searches for advertising targeting

Data Retention

Since we do not collect or store your location searches or report data, there is no personal data retention by us. Standard server access logs (IP, page, timestamp) are retained by our hosting provider for a maximum of 30 days for security purposes, after which they are automatically deleted.

Children's Privacy

GeoLens is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through our service, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Your Rights

Since we do not store personal data linked to your identity, most data rights (access, correction, deletion) are not applicable in the traditional sense. However, you have the right to:

Use the service without creating an account or providing personal information
Request information about our data practices by contacting us
Opt out of standard server log collection by not using the service

Security

GeoLens is served over HTTPS. Since data processing happens primarily in your browser and no personal data is transmitted to our servers, our attack surface for data breaches is minimal. We encourage users to download and save their PDF reports locally rather than relying on any cloud storage.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
